Automotive News reports this week that Rolls-Royce is considering a smaller saloon to compete with the Bentley Continental GT. R-R CEO Ian Robertson told the paper that "our engineering team is looking at lots of concepts. We are absolutely committed to see this family develop. I wouldn't rule anything out or in". He confirmed that the company's Goodwood production facility could easily handle a growth in output to assemble new models. The second member of the new Rolls-Royce family developed under BMW's ownership, the Phantom-based Corniche convertible, will go into production in 2007. (Automotive News)
