Hey there:
Will as the brother said.
First of all, once you have studied the basics you will always have them, I know that u think that you had forgotten, but you didn’t all you need is practice.
What I can add is that you don’t have to read special English literature stories, anything or any topic that interests you will help.
Why?
Because you need to practice the language not just your reading so if you read something that interests you –anything I mean- you will probably talk about it if you start a conversation with someone.
For writing, best way ever to practice on that is by carrying a small diary book around with you and write what ever is on your mind – in English of course- keep it to your self and select topics of your diary that aren’t as personal and present it to a person who can correct your mistakes.
Tips for speaking:
1. LESTEN TO WHO EVER IS TALKING. If this person is talking to you personally don’t be shy to say, “ Can you slow down please.” Wallaa nothing wrong with that, If its on TV then the more you listen to it the easier it going to be.
2. When trying to speak don’t hold back. However, don’t try to talk too fast. Remember that you are a new learner so try to speak slowly.
Why?
Because it will help you build you confidence.
3. Music lyrics is usually slang so be careful with what you listen to.
4. Inter an English chat, or try to find a friend who’s spoken English is good.
FINALY…
Practice.
And if any help needed please don’t hesitate.
