Project 1221 is the name of an Italian automobile company. The company is developing a new supercar, the MF1, for launch in 2005. Project 1221 includes ex-Lamborghini and Ferrari engineer Mauro Forghieri and ex-Pininfarina designer Emanuele Nicosia.
The MF1 will be priced over US$¾ million and will reportedly be powered by a 1000 hp (745 kW) engine. The company plans to build 200 examples.

One of the two prospected MF1 distinct models, the awd 3-seater essentially conserves the styling of the original MF1 awd 2-seater concept. A higher than originally designed upper back enables the comfortable accommodation of an additional adult passenger in the rear, in a 2+1 configuration.
In order to maintain the same wheelbase as well as reasonably compact dimensions for both MF1 models, the mechanical layout is inevitably different between the awd 3-seater and the rwd 2-seater. The Williams gas turbine engine is mid-mounted in any case.
With less than a "happy month" left before the regular price of €675 000 is put into effect and with our set production-launching target of orders well in sight, prospective clients are invited to reserve their provisional chassis number.
In particular we are looking forward to welcoming a first female client to the otherwise male-dominated select group of future MF1 drivers. Extreme performance usually attracts the boys and is of relative interest to the girls but in this case the huge power reserve is exceptionally combined with comfort, smoothness and an interior ambience of rare elegance, not to mention everyday practicality and carefree reliability.
After the unveiling of a complete image of the cars and their specification, a 20% deposit will be required in order to secure a final chassis number / delivery position. First deliveries are scheduled for 2008. Six months prior to the exact date of delivery a further 60% payment will be required, with the final 20% due upon delivery.
Final chassis numbers and delivery contracts are freely transferable at any stage yet all amounts are non-refundable for any reason other than the improbable non-delivery of a car by Project 1221.
